I was sent here by a friend that had a positive experience and they have quickly diagnosed two problems for me. One was a bad internal wiring harness and other one was an engine miss(felt like tranny was slipping). Luckily both were simple repairs. They also pointed out some things that the previous transmission shop did wrong. On top of being honest, they know how to do the job right!
I sent a family member here after my experiences. Again they were very honest. They identified that he only needed a retaining clip on the shift kickdown cable.
I received a 2009 Toyota Camry from my Sister-in-law who lives in NYC with only 30,000 miles on it. Drove it back to Texas and after several months it started leaking transmission fluid. I took it to the Firestone Store on FM2920 and they recommended Rutland primarily because of how long it had been in business and they never heard any complaints about it. It turned out that I only needed the seals replaced and a transmission service. The cost was only $300. They were honest about the problem and I could have been taken for a major transmission overhaul and I would not have known any better. Staff was friendly and I have not had any more problems or issues.
I have always been treated like a friend there. I race and when it has to be done, they stop and take care of me. Highly recomend.

These people are awesome and they did a great job on my car, which is old. I had a Monte Carlo with a lot of miles and had trouble with it and they fixed the issue.
Awesome awesome awesome service! Johnny explained my warranty to me and helped me to understand what all it encompasses! He walked me through the steps of what I needed and kept me informed the entire way. Even answered questions related to work he didn’t perform. Explained to me what was necessary to fix and what could wait for later instead of trying to take all my money at once. So thankful that I was referred to him. Awesome service. I cannot express my gratitude enough!
Johnnie Westell is by far the best and down-to-earth as they come. He would help anybody else in a heartbeat anytime I had a problem he had the solution in a second. He would stop whatever he was doing just to help me or talk to me on the phone and Chris the technician there is also awesome. Anytime I had a question about my vehicle, he always had a solution or a cause so I could get a idea.
Superior service. Had no idea what was wrong with my 2004 corolla except it would not go. My car was diagnosed, approved credit, and repaired all in one day. Johnny was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond from a customer service stand point. I would highly recommend this auto repair shop as they are fair and reasonable. I am 63 years old and I have lived in 3 different states and I can say with all honesty that Rutland Transmissions is the best of the best. I give them the highest rating possible A+. Not only were they able to correctly diagnose the multiple problems with my car (that 3 other shops were unable to resolve), but they used OEM parts (the best parts) and had the best technicians in order to fix the problems quickly and accurately. I found their depth of knowledge and experience unique to the surrounding area. Allowing them to give me the very best of service. They are honest and competitive in price.
I thought there was something wrong with my transmission. Rutland’s looked into it and said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it, though. I therefore give them high marks for honesty.
The regular auto shop where I used to go closed down and they were very good and I had nothing but good experiences with them. So I called another auto repair place and they recommended Rutland for transmission work. I appreciated the ride home, too, which some auto shops won’t do unless you live really close to their shop.
I had been to two different transmission shops in the Tomball area. Both told me that my transmission needed rebuilding. On the advice of a friend, I chose to get another opinion. Took my truck to Rutland and spoke with Lance. Lance told me that he believed my issue was electrical and not mechanical. He said he wouldn’t know for sure until he ran a full diognostic and dropped the pan. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told that my issue was in fact electrical. I did not need a rebuild. Honesty and integrity are hard to come by in today’s marketplace. These guys are it. They have earned a lifetime customer. Thank you.
